William B. Altenburg, 77 of Watertown passed away on Saturday March 15, 2014.
William was born on July 7, 1936 in Watertown, WI to Benjamin and Laura (Soldner) Altenburg. He was a graduate of Lake Mills High School. William farmed the family land his entire life. He enjoyed and worked with the yearly community threshing crews in the 1940's and 50's. He enjoyed attending horse pulling contests, family reunions and spending time with friends.
He is survived by: sisters Irene (Marvin) Kirst of Lake Mills and Lila (Larry) Painter of Jacksonville, IL; nephews Kevin (Sarah) Kirst of Lake Mills, Kenneth (Karen) Kirst of Northhampton, PA and niece Kristine (Sean) Steinke of Shorewood, WI; aunts Linda Hilker and Grace Miller both of Watertown. William is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
William is preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be on Thursday March 20, 2014 at 11:00AM at Mamre Moravian Church with Pastor Jane Gehler presiding. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Mamre Moravian Cemetery.
Memorials to Mamre Cemetery Fund or the charity of one's choice.
