Violet A. Lafler 92, of Waterloo passed away peacefully, on Tuesday August 27, 2019 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg.
Violet was born on March 12, 1927 in Morrisonville, WI the daughter of Arthur and Elsie (Severson) Pribbenow. Violet was a 1945 graduate of Poynette High School. She married Gordon “Butch” Knapton and later married Harold Lafler they both preceded her in death. She worked at Perry Printing in Waterloo for 27 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Marshall American Legion Auxillary Post 279. In Violet’s free time she enjoyed sewing, going to garage sales and taking trips to St. Vinny’s, she was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed painting lawn ornaments, her favorite hobby was gardening- flowers were Violet’s favorite, at one time she had over 100 flowers in her yard which she was very proud of. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known her.
Survivors include: Children: Sue Zingshiem of Marshall, Walter (Linda) Knapton of Ridgecrest, CA, Dave (Cindy) Knapton of Waterloo, Danny “Snickers” (Joanne Wampole) Knapton of Waterloo and William (Jodi) Knapton of Waterloo, 3 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, and brother Maynard Pribbenow, She is also survived by a number of step children, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 2 sisters, and son-in-law Michael.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August. 30, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Adomeit presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Waterloo.
