Violet Hamiln, 85 of Watertown, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at UW Hospital of Madison surrounded by her loving family.
Vi was born on February 8, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Anna (Anderson) Westergaard. On July 11, 1981, Violet married Joe M. Hamlin at home in Sheldon, IL. The couple had 2 daughters and enjoyed 20+ years together until Joe's death in 1987. She enjoyed crafting, making crocheted and knitting projects for her family and friends. Vi was known as a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always ready to give valuable counsel, listening to the entire situation before giving wise advice. She was totally selfless and a devout follower of Christ, who cherished her time with family and church family at First Baptist and Calvary Baptist Church, both of Watertown She will be deeply missed by many.
Violet is survived by: Children Diane (Ryan), Shelley (Timothy), Anna, Kathy, and John; Grandchildren Racheal, Christopher, and Shanna; Great-Grandchildren Breanna, Micah, Japheth, Paul, Elijah, Nehemiah. She is also survived by a number nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, husband, and 7 siblings.
Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at First Baptist Church (160 Oakridge Ct. Watertown, WI 53094) with Rev. Jason Wredberg and Rev. Dr. Robert J. Loggans presiding. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until the time of service at the church.
