Thomas R. Stai, 66, of Watertown passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Tom, son of Floyd & Anita (Hollatz) Stai, was born on July 12, 1946 in Watertown. He married Susan Woods on March 27, 1976 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Tom served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He worked at Silgan Containers for 42 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, American Veterans, the American Legion and was the Hall Manager of Turner Hall Association. During his life he was an avid outdoorsman and loved following Wisconsin sports teams. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing with his grandchildren and helping others.
Survivors include: wife Susan; children, Kim Genz , Kris Swisher and Aaron (Erin) Stai all of Watertown; grandchildren Dominique, Chelsea (Jake), Cassandra, Thaddeus, Arielle, Alexandra, Gabriella and Colton; one great-grandchild Rosalie; brothers Jim (Diane) Stai of Watertown, Ticy (Peggy) Stai of Watertown and Bob Stai of Beaver Dam; sister Judy (Geno) Soto of Watertown; also survived by a number of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ruth Ann.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 7th from 4-7pm at Pederson Funeral Home Watertown and on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00am at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, August 8th at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Jenson presiding. Burial will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia following the service. Memorials can be made to St. Mark's Lutheran School or to a charity of one's choice.
