Sun Prairie/Waterloo - Theresa J. Hamilton 84, of Sun Prairie formerly of Waterloo passed away on May 10, 2015 .Theresa was born on September 9, 1930, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin the daughter of Thomas and Genevieve (Schaff) Burke. She was a graduate of Mineral Point High School.
She married Francis Hamilton, the love of her life on October 3, 1953, at St. Mary's Church in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. They resided in Waterloo, Wisconsin where they farmed before moving to town to raise their family.
Theresa was a warm and loving person who always made everyone feel special by extending her friendly smile, and strong hugs. She worked as a beautician at Betty's Beauty Salon and a receptionist at McKay Nursery in Waterloo. She would often refer to the McKay staff as family, as they always were 'so kind and respectful' to her. In addition, she volunteered many hours at St Mary's hospital in Madison, was a member of the St. Joseph's Altar Sodality and a Eucharist Minister for the homebound.
Theresa will be forever remembered for her beautiful white hair and the endless love that she had for her entire family. Her strong faith and work ethic is something that she has instilled in her children and grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by her five children and fifteen grandchildren; Tom (Wendy), Nick, Kelsey, Brad and Katie of Avon Lake, Ohio; Dennis (Colleen), Spencer and Casey of Carrollton, Texas; Mary and Sophie Casadonte of Phoenix, Arizona; Jim (Cyndi), Rex (Katherine), Grant, Reid and Garrett of Algonquin, Illinois and Rob (Ann), Drew, Ty, Leah and Davis of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, parents, grandchildren Reese and Carly, brothers Charles and George Burke.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Holy Family Parish/ St Joseph's Catholic Church Waterloo with Monsignor Terry Conner presiding. Visitation will be held from 9-11 at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to everyone at Prairie Gardens for their love and care for Theresa. We would also like to thank Agrace Hospice for their care in compassion the past several days.
