Our beloved daughter, Teresa Ann Loeber, peacefully slipped away to be with her Savior, on Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2020 with her family by her side. Teresa had been living at Clearview in Juneau, Wisconsin the past 6 years.
Teresa was born on March 6, 1970 in Beatrice, Nebraska the daughter of Richard and Ardis (Obering) Loeber. At 2 months of age she traveled with her family to Germany where they lived for one and a half years until they moved to the Chicago area. After moving to Watertown in 1974 Teresa attended Watertown Public Schools in the Special Education programs of Carol Battenberg and Pauline Sukow. After her public school life, Teresa attended the day programs at Green Valley in Beaver Dam and then the Bethesda program in Watertown where she met many wonderful staff and friends. Teresa spent 12 wonderful years in the Bethesda Group Home on East Haven Drive until she required the nursing care provided at Clearview.
Teresa was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since she was 4 years old. She loved her church and especially the singing. Teresa was a fighter and fought off illness most of her life with frequent lengthy hospitalizations. While she could not speak, she touched many lives with her big smile or a look that would stop you cold.
Teresa is survived by her parents, Richard and Ardis Loeber, brother Todd (Amy), nephews Adam, Samuel, and Zachary Loeber, uncles, aunts, and cousins scattered across the U.S. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gilbert and Beulah Loeber and Arthur and Alice Obering, uncles Daniel Loeber and Ron Buchanan and aunt Norene Fitle.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor David Groth presiding. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at Wisconsin Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest near her grandparents.
There are many people who loved and cared for Teresa her whole life. A special thank you to family and friends, Bethesda staff, and Clearview staff for being such an important part of her life and helping her enjoy her life to the fullest. May Teresa always be remembered with her sweet smile and as someone special- truly a child of God. She was loved! She was our sunshine!
In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa’s honor may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Communities or a charity of one’s choice.
