Susan I. Stark, 67 of Nekoosa (formally Waterloo), passed away on May 8, 2016 at Aspirus Hospital of Wausau following a short illness.
Susan was born on March 4, 1949 in Watertown, WI, the daughter of LaVerne and Pearl (Schilling) Buss. Her Father LaVerne, died when Susan was just 13 years old and her mother remarried Eugene Schenck in 1965. She was a 1967 graduate of Marshall High School. On June 17, 1967, Susan married Wilbur Stark at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Waterloo and the couple had 4 children. She loved to sing and shared her talents at many weddings, even more funerals, and Midnight Masses. She was a great neighbor, always making sure they were fully stocked with her yummy baked goods. Susan cherished time outdoors and she and Wilbur would often take spontaneous day trips in the car. She was an avid gardener, constantly planting and replanting her beds. She enjoyed going to the Casino. Most importantly she adored her grandchildren. She was fully committed to their events and loved helping with projects and making treats for school. She was a warm and caring woman who will be deeply missed.
She is survived by: her Husband Wilbur; Children Tammy Rias of Beaver Dam, Jackie Stark of Milwaukee, Becky (Emmett) Phillipson of Au Train, MI, and Son Brian Stark of Waterloo; Sisters Darlene (Roger) Raether, Joan Klug, Peggy Tooley, Laurie (Steve) Weisensel; Brothers Ronald (Diane) Buss and Bob (Denise) Buss; Grandchildren Marcus, Christopher, Carley, Monise, Emmett, Fednise, and Ethan; Brother-in-Laws John (Charlene) Stark and Edgar Mueller; and Tony Rias. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Susan is preceded in death by: her parents, Brother Terry Buss, and Sister-in-Law Jean Mueller.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Marshall with Rev. Paul Anderson presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland.
