Shirley A. Stark, 82, of Waterloo passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Watertown Hospital.
Shirley was born on December 14, 1934 the daughter of Minor and Alma (Gehrke) Haseleu. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo for many years. Shirley was a very hard working woman. She worked at the Waterloo Shoe Factory and VanHolten's Pickles for many years. Shirley was very kind. She is remembered by those close to her as extremely tough. She never uttered a complaint, even through many medical issues in her last years of life. She took joy in the little things. She loved to socialize and loved to be around her friends. She also enjoyed going for walks no matter the weather. She was very independent. If Shirley needed something, she would get it herself or go without. Some highlights after retirement included a trip to Hawaii and a trip to Alaska. Simply put, Shirley just enjoyed her life and was happiest around her friends and family. She was loved and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by: her three Children Robert (Beth) Haseleu, Barbara (Terry Peterson) Stark, and Roger Stark; four Grandchildren Mindy (Justin Calvert) Haseleu, Stephanie (Vance) McCaw, Carmen Kuzdas and Cinnamon Rudd-Haack; two Great-grandchildren Rowan and Lane McCaw; five siblings Gloria Calkins, Geraldine Heling, Gordon (Phyllis) Haseleu, Donald (Judy) Haseleu, and Richard Haseleu. Shirley is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and 6 of her siblings.
