Shirley A. Everson, 91, of Waterloo passed away on Nov. 28, 2017 at home.
Shirley was born on Oct. 31, 1926 in Richwood Township, Richland Co., WI the daughter of Loyd and Nora (Dalton) Chitwood. She was proud of the fact that she grew up learning in a one room schoolhouse. Shirley married her high school sweetheart Gordon Everson on Dec. 1, 1945 in Richland Co., WI. She and her husband were dairy farmers for many years and they enjoyed all that the farm had to offer. She was a member of Waterloo United Methodist Church. Shirley loved gardening, music and later in life traveling. Above all, she loved her family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors: Daughter Peggy (Kevin) Donahue of Duluth, MN and Nancy Everson of Waterloo; Son Dean (Kathleen) Everson of Oconomowoc; Grandchildren Ben and Brett Everson; Sister Patsy Small of West Allis; Sister-in-law Nancy Chitwood of Gotham. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Brothers Renville and Richard, Sisters Dottie Kendall and Geraldine Bloyer. Memorials may be made in Shirley’s honor to the Waterloo United Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to thank her thoughtful neighbors and friends Dennis and Jean Buss, Steve and Lori Weisensel, Glen and Audree Hostetler for helping her remain in her home and for Home Health United Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday Dec. 4, 2017 at the Waterloo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Heidi Loomis presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland.
