Sally S. Hedblom, 81 of Waterloo, died peacefully at home on Monday, September 5, 2016 with her loving children by her side.
Sally was born on December 23, 1934 in Adams Friendship, WI the daughter of William and Doris (Donovan) Scott. Sally's Mother later remarried Robert Glody. Sally is a 1952 graduate of Sullivan High School of Chicago, IL. She worked as a Proofreader for Perry Printing for 20+ years. Sally raised her children totally on her own. She was a strong leader, who worked hard and was a very capable lady. She had an unfailing sense of humor, even to the end, and was a devout Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packer fan. Sally was a self-reliant person and was able to provide well for her family with the resources that were available. Sally was a published authoress in the Waterloo Courier on a weekly basis for many years as well as other publications. Sally had a sweet spirit, called everyone she met "honey" and will be dearly missed.
Sally is survived by: her Children Sally (Dave) Lanzatella of Sun Prairie, Christian Hedblom of Waterloo, and Kathleen (Richard) Schmidt of McFarland; 9 Grandchildren Alyssa, Courtney (Trey), Shane, Olivia, Matthew, Camille, Andrew Jr., Madeline, and Stephanie; 5 Great-Grandchildren and 1 on the way; Sister Ilene Blondell of Lawrenceburg, IN. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to, Rainbow Hospice, Marquardt Rehab, Meal's on Wheels, and Dr. Jenifer Siragusa for care and attention provided.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo with Rev. Robb Kosky presiding. A visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00PM until the time of service at the church. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
