Ruth Esther Bauman, 97, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at Rainbow Hospice of Johnson Creek.
Ruth was born on January 31, 1917 in Waukesha to Charles and Emma (Lenser) Schroeder. She married Herbert Bauman on June 27, 1937 and the couple enjoyed 33 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Waukesha High School. Prior to Herbert's death in 1970, Ruth was a homemaker and mother. Starting in 1970, she was employed by First National Bank (now Chase) where she worked as Head Cashier and Employee Trainer. Ruth was a life-long member of Salem United Methodist Church of Waukesha and served with United Methodist Women program. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, took pride in maintaining her home and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by: children Marianne (Charles) Schick of Johnson Creek and Ron (Susan Berger) Bauman of Cary, NC; grandchildren Lori Schick, Peter (Marie) Schick, Julie (Michael) McAlister; great-grandchildren Kym, John, Kalynn, Brandon, Alex, Jessica, Chris, Ashley, and Madeline. Ruth is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, husband Herbert, grandchildren Yvonne and David and brothers Earl and Charles.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Salem United Methodist Church of Waukesha.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Pastor Jorge for his Christ-like care, dedication, and compassion.
Funeral service will be at 11:00AM Tuesday June 3, 2014 at Salem United Methodist of Waukesha with Rev. Jorge Solis presiding. A visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Garden of New Berlin following the service.
