Rose Gruchow

February 12, 1922 — June 12, 2016

Rose Mary Gruchow, 94 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Rose Mary was born on February 12, 1922 in Farmington Township, WI, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Ambrose) Weber. She is in 1939 graduate of Johnson Creek High School and a 1940 graduate of the Milwaukee School of Beauty Culture. She married Harvey W. Gruchow on October 18, 1941 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church of Johnson Creek. She worked for 17 years as beautician at Bethesda Lutheran Homes. She was a long-time member of St. Henry Catholic Church of Watertown, a member of the Catholic Knights, Catholic Women's Club, and volunteered her time at Beverly Terrace of Watertown. Later in life she discovered a passion for oil painting and spent much of her time perfecting her art. Rose Mary also loved to make and wear her own clothes, even if the final product wasn't the latest fashion. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include: her 5 sons Harvey Jr. (Gayle) of Union Hall, NC, Robert (Lois) of Madison, Robin (Sue) of Madison, Terry (Linda) of Tampa, FL and Gregg of Watertown; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brother and three sisters. Memorials to Marquardt hospice would be appreciated.
A memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Henry Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Jablonski presiding. Visitation will be held on Saturday 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
The family wishes to thank the Kennedy and Weber families and to the staff of Marquardt for all their care and compassion through the years.
