Robert M. Kuhl, 93 of Marshall, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living of Marshall.
Robert was born on August 5, 1923 in Marshall, WI the son of Leonard & Ruth (Woelffer) Kuhl. He is a 1941 graduate of Marshall High School and recently attended his 75th high school reunion. Robert was a farmer and worked on the family land his entire life. On October 19, 1952, he married Althea Zank at St. John's Lutheran Church of Newville and the couple enjoyed 61 years of marriage until her death on June 24, 2014. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Marshall where he served as church council president and usher. Family reunions were always cherished times of eating, playing softball and being together. His lifelong recreational activity was dartball. He played in multiple leagues well into his 80's and enjoyed both the competition and the fellowship. Robert was known for his appetite, but worked every extra calorie off. He was a hard-working family man who loved to stay busy. Robert was a jokester and made friends wherever her went - telling his corny (but always clean) jokes. He was an easy-going man who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by: his Daughter Suzanne (Jim) Renz of St. James, MN, Son Andrew (Sue) Kuhl of Marshall; Grandchildren Melanie (Jon) Fitzner, Greg Renz, Ruth (Danny) Fredenberg, Eric Renz, Rachel (Dave) Cheyne, Ben Renz, and Rebecca Kuhl; 3 Great-Grandchildren Ethan, Noah, and Thayer; 2 Step-Grandchildren Patience and Peyton; Sister Jenny Kiesow of Marshall and Linda (Bernard) Tangney of Whitewater; Sisters-in-Law Rosalyn Zank and Joanne Zank; Brother-in-Law Hilmer Abel. Robert is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Wife Althea, 3 brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
Memorials in Robert's honor to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church of Marshall would be appreciated.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Sienna Crest Assisted Living for the care provided the past two years.
