Robert E. Holt 86, of Watertown passed away on Sunday June 30, 2013 at Marquardt Health Center.
Robert was born on Feb. 12, 1927 in Astico, WI the son of Emil and Alvina (Miller) Holt. He married Charlotte Saniter on June 26, 1948 in Watertown. Robert was a Foreman at Lindberg's for 30 years retiring on Aug. 1, 1989. He and Charlotte were members of Watertown Country Club for many years where they enjoyed the game of golf and the friendships they made. In raising their family, many summers were spent on Big St. Germain Lake where memories still continue to happen. In their retirement years, they spent time "snowbirding" in Florida with other family members. Bob also enjoyed Sheepshead, a game of "Foot and Hand", hunting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Survivors include: wife Charlotte Holt of Watertown; two daughters Deborah Schnell of Freedom and Susan (Randy) Schultz of Watertown; four grandchildren Ben Schnell, Jenny (Jim) Sukow, Chris Schultz and Tadd (Jolene) Schultz; four great grandchildren Jake, Joey, Caleb and Aubrey; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janice and brothers Chuck and Paul. In lieu of flowers contributions will go to Trinity Lutheran Church or Marquardt Manor.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 5, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brett Brauer officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Bob and his family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Marquardt Manor for their constant care and compassion and to their friends and family who took the time to visit, play a game of Foot and Hand, sent cards and extended special thoughts. We so appreciate all of you!
