Robert W. De Chant, 67 of Waterloo, passed away unexpectedly February 26, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 26, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Robert J. and Mary Jean (Coyle) DeChant. A few years after graduating from Homestead High School in Thiensville-Mequon, Bob began working as a Signal Maintainer for the Milwaukee Road Railroad. In 1979, he began working at Perry Printing, where he remained until its closure in 2004. He enjoyed spending his free time "up north" with family and friends. Family members recount searching for the elusive 5-foot Muskie with Bob, and cherish those memories. He also enjoyed closely following the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers. "Boobie", as he was known to his friends, had a personality where if you knew him, you liked him. He will be missed and he will certainly not be forgotten.
Bob is survived by: his sons, Michael (Kim) and Nicholas; siblings, M. Kathryn DeChant, Daniel (Kathy), Diane (David) Anderson, Richard (Marianne), Jeanne (Daniel) Wilde, Nancy (Craig) Webb, and Christopher (Susan); four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Terrance, sister-in-law Peggy DeChant, and nephew Sean DeChant.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held from 12:00pm - 4:00pm, May 7th at the Waterloo Regional Trailhead, located at 760 McKay Way, Waterloo, WI.
