Myrtle Kaap, 91, passed peacefully Friday, October 18, 2024, at Spero Heritage Homes.
Myrtle was a homemaker and raised two children, a son James Kaap and daughter LaLonnie Breunig. She married the love of her life Edward Kaap on October 4, 1948, in Milwaukee, and the couple enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2002. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and in her younger years went boating with her husband Edward and her children at area lakes. On March 9, 1933, Myrtle V. Garbisch was born to parents Jeanette and Lawrence Garbisch. She had one brother Eugene Garbisch. She has 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild yet to come. She is also survived by her niece Tami Magsamen and husband. She is preceded in death by her parents Jeanette and Lawrence Garbisch and her husband Edward Kaap.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Spero Heritage Homes and Rainbow Hospice, especially Jody, for the end-of-life care Myrtle received. The family would also like to thank Pastor Bartsch for the care given to Myrtle and the family. She will be missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bartsch presiding. Visitation will take place from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.
