Michelle M. Hansen, age 32, was called home to be with her Savior on October 27, 2020, at UW Hospital in Madison, after a courageous battle with heart failure. She was born March 7, 1988, in Beaver Dam, WI.
Michelle graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration in September of 2016. Up until her diagnosis with Stage IV Heart Failure in January of 2017, she worked in various nursing homes, assisted living homes and at Prairie Ridge Hospital. She had a passion for helping others and found joy in giving back to those in need. Her dream was to become an Administrator of a Nursing Home to improve the quality of life and advocate for those in need.
Michelle loved butterflies, art, and music. You could often find her singing and dancing in the kitchen while piling heaps of cheese onto whatever she was cooking. She enjoyed telling stories and would spend hours reminiscing with anyone who would take the time to listen.
Most of all, she loved and adored her children; they were her world. Michelle wanted nothing more than to have a blessed life with them. She said that God chose Averie and that “she is beyond special, she is more like an angel on earth. She will do amazing things in her life.” In reference to Landon, her “Goose”, she said that “as soon as I hear his voice or see him with that dimple, my heart smiles.” You could often hear her saying, “I’m the richest person in this world. I don’t need anything else but them and God.”
Michelle is survived by her beautiful children, Averie and Landon Lunda. Her mother, Jacqueline Hansen and her brother, Aaron Hansen (Paige Nellen). Her special nieces and nephew, Kaelyn, Allie, and Parker.
Her Aunts, Helen, Linda, Michelle, Ramona, and Uncles, Charles and Steve. Her step-mom Cindy, special friends, cousins and her spiritual friends at Focus Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Hansen and her brother, Kevin Boyd. Her maternal grandparents, Clare and Mae Kaschub and her paternal grandparents, Marguerite and Eugene Hansen and other loved ones.
A visitation for Michelle will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo from 2-3 pm, with a private service following for immediate family and close friends. A graveside service will take place immediately after. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to her children, Averie and Landon Lunda % Megan Smith (Custodian) at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Waterloo, WI 53594, PO Box 96.
We hope that when you think of Michelle, you remember her personality that was larger than life. Her smile that would light up the room. And her generous soul that cared so deeply about the lives she touched. Life is precious, so remember to hold your loved ones close and live life to the fullest.
Michelle has departed her earthly life, but her story is far from over. She will live on through the memories we share. With each beautiful sunset, twinkling star in the sky, and butterfly that flutters by, you will be reminded that she is with you, always.
