Mary Ann Harter

Mary Ann Harter, 85, of Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Ann was born on July 5, 1939, in Woodstock, IL, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Behlke) Urban. She worked at Perry Printing in Waterloo for over 33 years, retiring in 2003. In Mary’s free time she enjoyed gardening, making pies, and taking her daily walks at Piggly Wiggly. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known her.

She is survived by her children Charles Harter and Sandy Henning of Waterloo, two grandchildren Daniel (Emily) Henning and Kristin (Mykhailo) Henning-Nahirhiak, three great-grandchildren Sutton, Chase, and Lane, and her sister Linda Mann of Florida. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Scott Henning and three sisters Katherine Zimmermann, Caroline Barry, and Lucille Westphal.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Rainbow Hospice for the care and compassion given to Mary Ann.

Burial will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo.
