Marlene Caroline Jeffers, 98 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2016 with her family by her side.
Marlene was born on March 4, 1918 in Deuel County, SD the daughter of Fred and Hulda (Zoellner) Blumke. Marlene was baptized into God's family on March 24, 1918 and confirmed in her faith on July 31, 1932. She graduated high school in 1936 and later married Paul Jeffers on September 1, 1940 and the two enjoyed 61 years of marriage together. Marlene's first priority and love was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and most enjoyed spending time with and caring for those she loved. She also enjoyed old time music and dancing the polka and waltz. Marlene was the last surviving member of her immediate family and will be dearly missed.
Marlene is survived by: her son Alan and daughter-in-law Barbara Jeffers of Watertown; 3 Grandchildren Julie (Jay) Bolton of Mauston, Lee (Becky) Jeffers of Mankato, MN. and Michelle (Jason) Pederson of Watertown; 10 Great-Grandchildren, Brittany Bolton, Brandon Bolton, Hunter Bolton, Nicholas Bolton, Keegan Jeffers, Alyssa Dostert, Jacob Pederson, Sadie Bolton, Myah Pederson, Justin Pederson, and 1 Great- Great Grandchild Jaylee Bolton as well as other relatives and friends.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings, daughter Faye Ann, and her husband Paul.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00PM on Monday September 12, at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Anthony Schultz and Rev. Mark Gartner presiding. A visitation will be on Monday from 5:00PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI, to Great Plains Lutheran High School in Watertown, SD or a charity of one's choice.
