Marian Blaney

Marian Lois (Royse) Blaney, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Marquardt Health Center, where she had spent the last three years.

Marian was born on December 10, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to William and Helen Royse. She married Rev. Robert Blaney on December 7, 1968. The couple moved Watertown in 1970. Rev. Blaney served in the Chaplaincy Department at Bethesda and Marian worked at Bethesda.

Marian was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the Women of Good Shepherd.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Robert on December 13, 1983 and by her parents and step-mother. Among her survivors are many friends and acquaintances who knew her as a result of her volunteer work at Beverly Terrace, her work on Meals on Wheels, and her frequent trips to Hardee’s Restaurant. When asked how she was doing, her simple reply was always, “Plum Peachy.”

Her friends, Larry and Cheryl Crawford, wish to thank the staff of Marquardt Health Center and Marquardt Hospice for the warm and loving care given to Marian.

Memorials in Marian’s honor may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Sanctuary Project or a charity of one’s choice.

A memorial service for Marian will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home with the Rev. Victor Tegtmeier presiding. A visitation will be held from 1:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be held following the service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
