MAE IRENE PILSNER
Mae Irene Pilsner, aged 97, died peacefully on May 5, 2013 at Marquardt Manor in Watertown. Mae was born May 3, 1916, in the Town of Summit, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bertha M. (Zahn) and John A. Meyer.
June 14, 1941, Mae and Ray J. Pilsner were united in marriage by Pastor Karl Wedel at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sullivan, Wisconsin. Ray preceded her in death 1977.
Mae was a loving mother and homemaker. She was an active in Women of the Church at St. John's Lutheran Church, Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. She was honored for 64 years of service on the Women's Axillary on May 2, 2013. Mae was also a member of Schlesner-Burri American Legion, the Johnson Creek Historical Society, and AARP.
Mae's warm heart and giving nature was evident in her extensive volunteer work at church and in the community. Mae made many quilts for church mission work, sponsored the construction of a church in Africa, for many years she weekly made the bread for communion at St. John's, and also helped fellow residents at Marquardt Manor. She was always there to help anyone that needed some assistance or something done. Her hobbies included caring for her beautiful flower gardens and extensive worldwide travels.
Mae is survived by her two sons, Gene R. (Jane) and Ron J., 3 grandchildren Lisa, Ryan, Michael, step-grandson, Todd, many relatives and close friends.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters; Elva (Julius) Neumann, Mabel (Roy) Roth, Luella Meyer, two brothers, Lester (Edna) Meyer and Harold (Elsie) Meyer.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Friday May 10, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek with the Rev. Matthew Smith-Laubenstein presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday 2:00- 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery Johnson Creek.
Mae has requested that memorials be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church, Johnson Creek or Marquardt Foundation, Watertown, Wisconsin. Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home is caring for the family. On-line condolences may be made at www.pn-fh.com
