M. O'Neil

Marjorie "June" Campbell O'Neil, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 96, met her Savior face to face, Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Marquardt Health Center, Watertown, Wisconsin. June was born March 22, 1918 to Lawrence and Almeda "Fern" (Doctor) Campbell in Clarion, Wright County, Iowa. She attended country schools in Wright County and graduated from Clarion High School in 1935. She later attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri. June worked as a secretary for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. in Des Moines, Iowa. She later worked for Reuben H. Donnelley Corp. in Nevada, Iowa. In 1940 June moved to Blue Earth, Minnesota where her parents had moved.
On August 28, 1941 she married Charles Josiah O'Neil in Elmore, Minnesota. June and Charles spent most of their married lives farming in Faribault County, Minnesota. For over 16 years she worked at the Baptist Home (now Parker Oaks) in Winnebago, Minnesota. After her retirement she continued living in Blue Earth until June 2001 when she moved to Watertown, Wisconsin, to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Larry Oats. Before moving to Watertown, June was active as a Sunday School teacher and in ladies' ministries at Huntley Baptist Church and later at Calvary Baptist Church of Granada.
June is survived by her children: Larry (Elvera) O'Neil of Sedalia, Missouri; Colleen (Larry) Oats of Watertown, Wisconsin; and Brian (Joyce) O'Neil of Apple Valley, Minnesota. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren: Mitchell (Jill) O'Neil, Sharilyn (Matthew) Maupin, Nathanael (Crystal) Oats, Andrew (Lisa) Oats, Elisabeth (Kipp) Malmanger, Katrina (Eddie) Washetas, Jennifer (Matthew) Weimann, and Emily (Stuart) Voeller and 26 great grandchildren. She is further survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Fern Campbell of Blue Earth, Minnesota, and Ida Campbell of Waite Park, Minnesota, along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" on July 5, 1998.
June was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Watertown, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Watertown, on Monday, February 2 at 7 p.m. with Dr. Robert J. Loggans officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. until time of the service. The service can be viewed on livestream at www.cbcs.org. Memorials may be given to Maranatha Baptist Seminary. A second memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, Granada, Minnesota. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth, Minnesota.
