Leslie LaVerne Kidd, age 88, of Waterloo, Wisconsin, passed away at ThedaCare Hospital in Waupaca, Wisconsin, on January 30, 2024, surrounded by family.
He was born in the Town of Glendale, Monroe County, Wisconsin on April 25, 1935, to Archie B. and Eugenia Kidd (Burdick).
Leslie was united in marriage to Alzena L. Snodgrass on December 28, 1954. Leslie and Alzena recently celebrated 69 years of marriage.
Leslie served in the U.S. Army as an airframe repairman and was honorably discharged in 1956, receiving a good conduct medal.
Leslie farmed for over 40 years and upon retiring from farming, Leslie was employed by the U.S. postal service as a rural mail carrier. Leslie's biggest passion was tending to a large garden and being a vendor for many years at the Sun Prairie Farmers Market and other markets in the surrounding area.
Leslie is survived by his wife Alzena, four children: Phyllis (Thomas) Filter of Rhinelander, WI, Jeffrey (Deb) Kidd of Branson, MO, Duane (Lyn) Kidd of Rio, WI and Philip (Michelle) Kidd of Waterloo, WI; 13 grandchildren: Michelle Showers, Melanie (Cory) Brunner, Jennifer (Josh) Wagner, Daniel Kidd, Jessica Kidd, Justine (Ken) Midcalf, Michael (Liz) Kidd, Cassidy Kidd, Chelsea Kidd, Morgan Filter, Naomi Filter, Justine Kidd, and Kenneth Kidd; 16 great-grandchildren: Londyn Wolff, Wynndham Wolff, Jordan Meyers, Dana Meyers, Jayley Wagner, Jameson Wagner, Josie Wagner, Jonah Wagner, Christian Narvaez, Quincy Tuck, Alice Midcalf, MacKenzie Midcalf, Trinity Midcalf, Ashtyn Brunner, Bodie Brunner, and Jadelyn Kidd; one great-great grandchild, Adalyn Fryda, and sister Ruth Lane of Milwaukee, WI and sister-in-law Cleo Rohde of Florida. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, siblings infant Ernest Kidd, Myrtle Beirman, Milbourne Kidd, Howard "Gene" Kidd, Joyce Bunnell, and David Rohde.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 226 E. Madison St., Waterloo, WI at 3:00pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, with Rev. Robert Moberg presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 2:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date.
