Watertown- La Vern A. Seibel, 87, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
La Vern was born on Oct. 25, 1932 in Watertown the son of Clarence and Lillian (Kreiziger) Seibel. He served in the US Army from 1952-56. He married the love of his life Barbara Krause on June 15, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richwood and the couple enjoyed 63 years together. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and helped serve funeral luncheons for many years. La Vern worked at King Hintz Auto Body and had a great passion for cars. He was known to have quite a collection of old cars. La Vern also had a great passion for the family dairy farm, as the fourth generation since 1865 and was known to be a hardworking and selfless man. He will be truly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Survivors include: wife Barbara; 10 children Mary (Kelly) Smith, Mark (Gina), Gary, Douglas (Pam), Yvonne, Robert, Janice (Cory) Zimmermann, Karen Bonet, Susan and Peter (Joy); 22 grandchildren Jeremiah (Mareike), Nathaniel, Oliva (Alberto), Cody (Angel), Keegan (Trisha), Kelsey, Ethanne, Ameleighah (Luca), Izabehla (Cody), Haayden, Gavin (Joanna), Emilly, Belinda (Josh), Amber, Hope, Grace, Aurea, Josephien, Jared, Jonah, Josh and Elizabeth (Drew); 20 great grandchildren; 2 sister Dolores Riedel and Vivian (Bernard) Von Rueden. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Bernard’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday Oct. 14, 2020 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Johnson presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial with military honors will be in St. Henry Catholic Cemetery.
