Kyle P. O'Brien, 35, originally of Watertown, died unexpectedly on March 19, 2017, in La Porte, Texas. Kyle was born on October 30, 1981, in Oconomowoc to Cody O'Brien and Carol O'Brien. Kyle attended public schools in Watertown and later obtained certification as a crane operator. He used his networking skills to land jobs as a crane operator with oil industry construction companies in North Dakota and Houston, Texas. He loved being a crane operator and preferred when he was working 60-70 hours a week.

Kyle loved being with family and friends. He had an extraordinary ability to develop a large array of friends, coworkers, and professional contacts. His sense of humor was always active in making people laugh and when pulling pranks on coworkers. He had a talent for seeing inside the lives of others and was a natural at finding ways to help friends and acquaintances on countless occasions. He will be remembered especially as a hard worker, a skilled crane operator, an expert griller, a master in the kitchen, an inventive and kind person, and as a great friend, brother, and son.

Kyle is survived by his father, Cody O'Brien of Watertown, mother, Carol O'Brien of Beaver Dam, sisters Erin and Molly O'Brien, many other relatives, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown on Saturday, March 25, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider writing a remembrance of Kyle. Please keep the memory of Kyle in your heart by being kind and generous with others.
