Heaven gained a beautiful angel on Sunday, November 15. Kristin “Kris” Hensler passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family. She led a courageous battle against brain cancer for the last 3 years, living her life fearlessly, with strength and hope. Kris lived a selfless life full of love, laughter, and kindness. She and her husband, Dale, were high school sweethearts and had just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. They raised their three children in Waterloo, who will continue to live their lives the way she taught them, through love, compassion, kindness and with a positive attitude. She was an active member of her community, volunteering for different events at the high school, helping and cooking for anyone who needed it, and being the “cookie lady”. Kris was always on the move, she could often be found at the gym or in the kitchen cooking and baking for everyone. Dale and Kris enjoyed camping, bike riding, going for hikes, playing games or spending time with family.
Kris is survived by her husband, Dale, 3 children Amanda (Scott) Lardinois, Chelsea (Zach) Haskins, Jordan Hensler, 2 grandchildren Wyatt and Gavin Lardinois. Her parents Jean and Ralph FInkler, siblings Jill (Mike) Luebke, Nick (Molly) Finkler, mother-in-law, Bernice Hensler, and numerous other family members.
Kris is preceded in death by her sister Lana Sullivan.
A private family memorial mass will be held at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Sun Prairie with Fr. Don Heir presiding.
