Joyce L. Walkinshaw, 79 of Watertown went home to be with her Lord on Monday Feb. 2, 2015.
Joyce was born on Feb. 10, 1935 in Wayne, WV the daughter of Everette and Lygia (Vaughn) Staley. Joyce worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for several different ministries for many years. She married Everett Childress on Sept. 5, 1960 he passed away on April 20, 1983. She later married Stephen Walkinshaw on Jan. 4, 1997 and he passed away on April 23, 2010. Joyce was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown. She enjoyed antique shopping and spending time with her family and friends from church.
Survivors include: children Virginia (Bud) Downs of Watertown, Paul (Judi) Childress of Cincinnati, OH and Amy Hand of Denver, CO; ten grandchildren Sarah Downs, Rachel (Thomas) Woodby, Aaron Downs, David Downs, Jonathan Downs, Levi Downs, Rett Childress, Joanna Childress, Samantha Childress and Madison Hand. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and two sisters. Memorial to Calvary Baptist Church or West Side Baptist Church of Eugene, OR would be appreciated.
A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 5, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Loggans and Rev. Greg Kaminski presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery in Watertown.
