Joy (Hess) Garlock, 84, of Watertown passed away on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at her home.
Funeral services for Joy will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. David Groth officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
Joy was born on April 8, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio. She enjoyed working with the cub scouts in Elkhorn and Janesville before moving to Watertown in 1973. She was a secretary at the Lebanon Public School for many years, and enjoyed interacting with the school children. Joy was active in many bridge clubs. She was a member of the Watertown Country Club, loved the game of golf and was a scorekeeper for many years at the GMO. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Watertown and took confirmation classes in her eighties and was confirmed on Feb. 11, 2007.
Joy will be missed by her two sons, Keith Garlock and Brent Garlock, both of Calif.; one granddaughter Lindsee Garlock Godsey of Branson, Mo.; her sister Vi Krisker of Vicksburg, Miss., and special friends, Sue Arnold and Maurine Ayers of Watertown.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Ted Garlock and a twin brother, Jay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Watertown Country Club or the charity of one's choice.
