Joseph R. Haberman, 82 of Waterloo, passed away on Friday, January 02, 2015 at the Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Joe was born on August 16, 1932 to Charles and Angela (Donegan) Haberman in the town of Waterloo. Joe was a 1950 graduate of Waterloo High School. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Joe married Anne Marie Johnson on July 30, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Waterloo. He was a member of American Legion Post 233, where he was a former post commander. He was a member of the F.X. Hess Knights of Columbus 618 and served on the Waterloo City Counsel for 3 terms. Joe worked for Artcraft Press for 41 years and was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching the Packers, Badges, Brewers and especially his own children and grandchildren play for the Waterloo Pirates.
Survivors include: Wife Anne Haberman of Waterloo; 2 Sons Mike (Bev) Haberman of Waterloo and Greg Haberman of Marshall, 2 Daughters Debra (Dave) Arians of Waterloo and Donna Deppe of Waterloo; 8 Grandchildren Andrea Kane, Joshua Deppe, Jessica Jaehnke, Amanda Haberman, Adrian Arians, Brittany Grunewald, Curtis Haberman, Trevor Deppe; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Brother Charles Haberman of Waterloo; Brother-in-Law Al (Mary Lynn) Schaller of Rhinelander. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, his Sister Mary Katherine Hildebrandt, and Son-in-Law David Deppe.
Memorials to the charity of one's choice in Joe's honor would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Holy Family Parish-Waterloo Campus with Fr. Ronald Rank presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9am until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
