Jonathan A. Kohlmetz 72, of Waterloo passed away on Monday Sept. 9, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Madison.

Jonathan was born on December 9, 1946 in Milwaukee, the son of Arnold and Pauline (Schroeder) Kohlmetz. Jonathan spent most of his life working as a farmer in the town of Concord and was also an over the road truck driver for many years. He married the love of his life Jean Schultz on Sept. 20, 1997, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo and the couple enjoyed 22 years together.  In his free time he enjoyed bowling, playing darts, working on his tractors, and taking off on long weekend vacations. Above all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Jonathan is survived by his Wife Jean of Waterloo; Son Jonathan (Connie) Kohlmetz of Watertown; Daughter Traci Skulaski of Jefferson; Step Children Timothy Higgins of Waukesha and Tammy Lynn Higgins of Milwaukee. He is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Susie, his parents, and brother Leonard.

Memorials in Jonathan’s honor may be made to Rainbow Hospice, V.A. Hospital, and Care Wisconsin.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019 at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Waterloo with the Rev. David Phillips presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00AM until the time of the service.  Burial will follow the service in Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland.
