Jon K. Sutherland went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek.
Jon Kipling Sutherland was born December 9th, 1964 in Aurora, Illinois to Frederick “Kip” and Joann (Haddock) Sutherland. He lived his childhood in Illinois, and moved to Bethesda Lutheran Communities in Watertown in 1978. Jon lived at Bethesda until 2017. Jon was a tough nut to crack, he preferred most people at a distance, letting just a few people in to be close to him. Jon enjoyed going to the movies, going to parks, and different sightseeing around Wisconsin, especially a couple of trips to Wisconsin Dells. Jon was most happy sitting out on the deck with the sun on his skin, the breeze in his hair, enjoying the fresh air, and listening to the radio.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and an aunt. He loved his mother Mary Sutherland of Aurora, Illinois, who survives him, as does his sister Diana of Florida, his brother Tony of Aurora, Illinois, a niece, and other relatives and friends, and his buddy John Uhlman. He is further survived by his friends in his group home that he shared his life with, as well as the staff that became friends. The family would like to thank all the staff that worked with Jon over the years, especially, Dawn, Dorothy, Gabby, Kathy, and Kirsten. The family would also like to thank Rainbow Hospice for their wonderful care with Jon.
Due to current CDC restrictions, a small private service will be held, and burial will take place in Harmony Cemetery, Greenup, Illinois. A memorial for friends is planned for later in the year when restrictions are lifted.
