Jola A. Buss

Jola A. Buss, 93 of Lake Mills, passed away on November 13, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Jola was born March 12, 1930, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Lennie and Bonnie (Moungey) Pease. On September 24, 1950, Jola was united in marriage with Donald Buss. The couple had 6 children and shared 73 happy years together. Jola and Don were faithful members of St. Stephen Lutheran Church of Concord. Jola was very involved at the church, whether it was teaching Sunday school, serving on the Ladies Aid, singing in the choir, or working with the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. In her free time, Jola enjoyed cross stich and needlepoint. Above all else, Jola treasured the time spent with her family.

Jola is survived by: children Bob (Cynthia) Buss, Bonnie (Carl) Eggert, Mike (Rosie) Buss, Nancy (Gordy) Christian, and Patty (Terry) Zoller; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister Sara Lee Weigel; and daughter-in-law Cindy Buss. Jola is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jola is preceded in death by her parents, son Tom, grandson Chad Eggert, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jola’s name to Rainbow Hospice or St. Stephen Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 20, 2023, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church of Concord with Rev. Dr. Allan Buss presiding. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Jola will be laid to rest at St. Stephen Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
