John E. Reising, 80 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his home.
John was born on October 26, 1936 in Fairbury, IL, the son of Edward and Mary (Kurtenbach) Reising. John is a high school graduate and served his country in the US Army from 1957-1959. He farmed for many years in the Watertown area and retired from the Waterloo School District, where he was employed as a custodian. John loved the kids at school, and they loved him - evidenced by John's car being the only employee vehicle NOT to be vandalized. He was a collector and lover of stuff including his cars, tractors, his school bus, and other treasures. He enjoyed being in nature and loved animals. John was genuine man and great neighbor, friend and brother. He was always willing to donate his time and talents to a person in need.
John is survived by: his Siblings Helen Tschosik of Piper City, IL, Anne (James) Middleton of Walnut, IL, Paul (Kathy) Reising of Prairie du Chein, Francis (Patricia) Reising of Lake Mills, Doris (Kenneth Jr.) Wolff of Lake Mills, Rose (Delaine) Budig of Lake Mills, and Marjorie Reising of Madison. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Sister Mary Louise, Brother Joseph, Nephew David Tschosik, and a Brother-in-Law Victor Tschosik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30AM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church of Watertown with Fr. Patrick Wendler presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place on Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Piper City, IL.
