Jerrold D. "Butch" Kopp 72 of Johnson Creek passed away on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012 at the Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Butch was born on Oct. 1, 1939 in Watertown the son of Melvin & Olivia (Fritch) Kopp. He married Carolyn "Sue" Friend on Dec. 3, 1983. He served in the US Army at Ft. Carson in Co. 1957-58. He worked at Waukesha Motors for 22 years retiring in 1979. He was a member of Ebenezer Moravian Church and the J.C. Riders. He was an avid Snowmobiler and Packer fan. He loved Nascar Racing, camping and horseshoes. He loved spending time with his family, especially his dear grandchildren.
Survivors include: his wife of 28 years Sue Kopp of Johnson Creek; 4 daughters Julie (Tim) Pattengale of Johnson Creek, Lorrie Kopp of Johnson Creek, Trudy (Darrin) Krueger of Jefferson and Kathy (Jim) Proffitt of Johnson Creek; 4 sons Jerry (Brenda) Friend of Watertown, Gary (Debbie) Friend of Ridgeville, IN, Mike (Darlene) Friend of Waterloo and Tom (Stacy) Friend of Ridgeville, IN; 23 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother Bruce (Mary Lou) Kopp of Watertown; 3 brother in laws John Cahill of Newpon, IN, Bill (Beverly) Mock of Ridgeville, IN and John (Sharon) Mock of New Rittsburg, IN; sister in law Janet Bishop of Portland, IN; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Beverly Winter and Bonnie Cahill and a brother in law Ronnie Winter. Memorials to the family would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Fort Home Health Care, Willowbrook Nursing Home and the staff of Watertown Regional Medical Center for all their care and compassion.
Funeral service will be held 6:00 PM on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Ebenezer Moravian Church with the Rev. Jane Wegner presiding. Visitation will be held on Friday 5-7 PM at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home and on Sat. 5:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
