Janet L. Netzer, 85 of Waterloo, WI passed away on December 25, 2018 at the Larson House in Columbus with her loving family and friends by her side.
Janet was born on March 30, 1933 in Columbus, WI the daughter of Edward and Estelle (Hotmar) Noltner. Janet grew up in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo High School. She worked in a variety of jobs, from washing dishes in her pa rent’s restaurant, to owning and operating a grocery store. Her favorite and most important job was caring for her 5 children. Janet was a woman of faith. It was the most important thing to her. She was a devoted Catholic all her life and regularly attended mass. Janet was also very organized and neat. Her home was always in good order and in her later working career she cleaned homes and businesses. For leisure, she loved to bake and cook, as well as working with ceramics and doing some gardening. She also played the snare drum in the Waterloo City Band for many years, ending her career last year. It was one of the great joys of her life. She enjoyed being social as well and would host card club in her home. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family.
She is survived by: her 5 children, Kathie (Curt) Lanzendorf, Mike (Cathy Quinn) Netzer, Mary Ellen (Mike) Taylor, Diane (Mike) Haag, and Mark (Shelly) Netzer; 3 siblings, Bob (Doris) Noltner, Rita (Jim) Kannenberg, and Ed (Lou Ann) Noltner; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; and 2 God-children, Elizabeth Templeton and Debra Beaudet . Janet is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents and a sister, Mary Jane.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Generations Hospice, especially Chris. They would also like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Joni Crave for her special visits and care for their mother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Holy Family Parish in Waterloo. Fr. Jorge Miramontes will officiate the mass. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00AM till the time of mass at the church. Janet will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery following the mass.
