James Gudmundson

James D. Gudmundson, 83, of Watertown passed away March 26, 2014 at home while under Rainbow Hospice care.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 12 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Watertown with Rev. David Groth presiding. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 AM until the time of service. At Jim's request his body was donated to the Body Donor Program, UW Madison.
Jim was born in Milwaukee March 1, 1931 to Allan G. and Ingrid A. (Anderson) Gudmundson. He attended Washington H.S. in Milwaukee. On September 10, 1955 he married Eleanor A. Landgrebe at Zion Lutheran Church in Chicago. While in Chicago Jim worked for Household Finance, Capital Finance and First Finance where he was vice president. In 1972 Jim and his family moved to Oconomowoc where he was an owner/operator of Scotsland Cinemas in Oconomowoc and the Park & Pix Cinemas in Waukesha. After retiring in 1999, he and his wife moved to Watertown.
Jim was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown where he served on the Board of Human Care, and was a former member of St. Paul's in Oconomowoc. He was also a director emeritus of the National Association of Theatre Owners of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
He is survived by his wife; children Allan (Bonnie) Gudmundson of Birnamwood, Valora Brown of Dousman, Lance (Kim) Gudmundson of Sullivan; sister Sonja LeAnne (Jerrold) Koch of Oconomowoc; step-brother Robert (Mary) Swanson of Stroud, OK; grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick) Glynn, Matthew (fiancee Thia) Gudmundson, Shannon Brown, Sarah Gudmundson and James Gudmundson; great grandchildren Collin, Amara and Colton.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Walfred Swanson, brother Jon (in infancy), granddaughter Brigid O'Hara, and great grandson Evan Glynn.
The family would like to thank Rainbow Hospice for the loving care provided.
