James M. “Jim” Baade, 81, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.
Jim was born on August 25, 1943, the son of Ernst and Mary Jane (Lyons) Baade. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Jim was a longtime active community member in Watertown; he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, past president of CAC, Main Street Program, and other boards in Watertown. Jim was passionate about home building and development, including the construction of his own home. He enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, was a nature lover, outdoor enthusiast, had a love for animals, and enjoyed fishing and bird watching. He was very knowledgeable about flora and fauna. He enjoyed being of service to people. As proud co-owner of Lyons Irish Pub he enjoyed hosting, telling ghost stories, and giving tours of the ballroom. Above all Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known him.
Jim is survived by his significant other Carol Bohlman, children Jeffrey (Sandra) Baade, Jill (Randy), Jody Baade, and Jennifer Baade, and his Siblings Robert (Tracy), Kathy (Rich), and Michael. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Gary, Tom, Sue, and Peggy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00pm on Friday, October 25, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Renz presiding. Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:00pm and also from 11:00am until the time of service on Friday at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown following Mass.
