Irene L. Oestreich, 92, of Watertown, went to be with Jesus on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Willowbrook Nursing Home of Lake Mills surrounded by her family.
She was born April 16th, 1921 in Watertown, daughter of Ernst and Anna (Maron) Dobrick. Irene graduated from Watertown High School in 1939. She worked at Watertown Memorial Hospital, Herros Restaurant and S.S. Kresges Store. She was married to Clarence "Dink" Stanke for 25 years when a tragic accident took him from her. She later married Robert E. Oestreich and enjoyed 25 years of marriage with him as well. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Watertown. Irene enjoyed being with her family, reading, crafting, crocheting, cards, traveling and playing bingo. She enjoyed living in her beautiful new home before spent the last 5 years and Willowbrook Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Lake Mills.
Survivors include: her daughter Linda (John) Kohlhoff, a son-in-law Steve Mihal, and daughter-in-law Sharon Stanke all of Watertown. Three granddaughters; Lisa (Mike) Engel of Oregon, Melanie Mihal and Kimberly Stanke Carpenter of Watertown. Three grandsons; Kevin Mihal of Boston, MA, Andrew (Michele) Mihal of Cross Plains, and David Tietz of Watertown. She is also survived by five great-granddaughters; Ashley (Andrew) Ramberg, Kayla Engel, Skylar, Lila and Carina Mihal, five great-grandsons; Jacob Engel, Jared Engel, Christopher Carpenter, Braedon Mihal and Zachary Mihal, and one great great-grandson Carter Engel.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, her daughter Judith L. Mihal, her son E. Richard Stanke, two sisters; Esther Rieck and Leona Wetzel, four brothers; Elmer, Gilbert, Clarence and Howard. Irene was the last of her immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Willowbrook Nursing Home or Rainbow Hospice.
Our family would like to thank Willowbrook Nursing Home and Rainbow Hospice for all the care and love that was given to our Mom/Grandma.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2013 at ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 301 Clark St., Watertown with Rev. Anthony Schultz and Rev. Mark Gartner presiding. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the Church on Friday.
