Waterloo-Helen J. Strauss 95 of Waterloo passed away Monday August 13, 2012 at Alden Estates Nursing Home in Jefferson.
Helen was born on February 4, 1917 in Pipersville the daughter of Jay & Mary (Humphery) Perry. She was a1934 Graduate of Watertown High School. Helen Married Raymond Strauss on April 6, 1940 in Watertown. She was employed in the mailing department at Perry printing for 24 years until her retirement in 1987.Helen was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Waterloo, the Hubbleton Homemakers Club and a member of several card clubs.
Survivors include: son Gordon Strauss of Waterloo; daughter Marilyn Olson of Watertown; three grandchildren Tory, Don and Brenda; six great-grandchildren; special family Scott & Nancy Schultz, Alexis and Camden; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Connie Vehlow, five brothers, two sisters and grand-daughter Tami Schultz. Memorials can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Agrace Hospice Care Inc.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday August 17, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church Waterloo with Rev. James Adomeit presiding. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery Town of Portland following the service. A luncheon will be served after the burial at their home farm.
