Heino F. Zimdars 92 of Watertown passed away on Tuesday Aug. 28, 2012 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Heino was born on Oct. 12, 1919 in Ixonia the son of Heino A. and Anna (Schumacher) Zimdars. He served in the U. S. Army in WWII 1941-45. He was awarded the Presidential Citation and the Purple Heart and also four campaign stars in the European theater of operations. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering receiving a certification in practical electricity in 1946 and a certification as a Welders Technician in 1947. He married Lucille Frederic on Jan. 19, 1952 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He worked for Sherman products for 9 years and worked at Lindberg Hevy Duty for 29 years retiring in March, 1985. As a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church he served on the Board of Elders and also served as a counter. He was a member of O.W.L.S., AARP chapter 3056, American Legion Post 189, D.A.V. and the 4th Infantry Division Association.
Survivors include: sons Wayne Zimdars of Mundelein and David (Delanie) Zimdars of Fort Atkinson; six grand children Jeremy, Allyson, Jason (Tracey), Anthony, Amanda and Adam; three great-grandchildren Summer, Lily and Rylie. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lucille, daughter-in-law Kerry, brothers Edgar and Gerhardt, and sisters Lucille, Lorena, and Doris. Memorials to St. Mark's Lutheran Church and School would be appreciated.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday Aug. 31, 2012 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Jensen officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.
