Gunar Klass, 89 of Wisconsin (originally of Chicago), passed away on Thursday October 23, 2014 with his family by his side.
Gunar was born in Latvia, the son of the late Sigurd and Gerda (Steinhardt) Claassen. Gunar and his late wife Birute raised two sons. He was industrious, strong-willed and very direct. Gunar was an electrical engineer, quite mechanically inclined; his passion was root cause analysis and repair of broken equipment of all types. He was an avid gardener and loved living an independent lifestyle. He was a true outdoorsman who loved waterfowl and pheasant hunting, musky fishing and spending every available weekend working outdoors.
Gunar is survived by his sons Wally (Debra) Klass and Ron (Paula) Klass; grandchildren Kayla, Stephen (Irene), and Bryan (Josie); 4 great-grandchildren, and sister Elita. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
