Gordon F. Wilke 85, of Waterloo passed away on Monday Dec. 8, 2014 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Gordon was born on Aug. 27, 1929, in Waterloo, the son of Walter and Alice (Balke) Wilke. Gordon served his country in the Army, and was a veteran of the Korean War. On June 11, 1955, he married the former Evelyn (Tooty) Behling. He farmed in the town of Waterloo all his life. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Waterloo. The most important things in his life were his farm and his family. He also enjoyed horse pulling, and was very proud of his team of Belgians, Dick and Bud. Survivors include: daughter Debbi (Dennis) Ludeman of Reeseville; son Greg Wilke of Waterloo; grandchildren Bradley (Holly) Ludeman of Waterloo, Bret Ludeman of Fall River and Kyle (Malinda Kampstra) Ludeman of Reeseville; grandchildren Benjamin, Evelyn and Isabella; brother Donald (Doris) Wilke of Waterloo. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant sons, Dean & Dale, and brothers Orlo and Dennis. Memorials may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Waterloo.
Funeral service will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas Wilsmann presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday 12-2 pm. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Waterloo.
