Gloria A. Jacobs, 70 of Waterloo, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Rainbow Hospice Center of Johnson Creek.
Gloria was born on September 15, 1945 in Fort Atkinson, WI, the daughter of William and Mary (Cone) Kornstedt Jr. Gloria is a 1963 graduate of Lakeside Lutheran High School and the Milwaukee Accredited Schools of Beauty Culture of Madison. On October 3, 1964 she married Kenneth Jacobs at St. James Lutheran Church of Cambridge and the couple enjoyed 51 years a marriage. She was a devoted wife and mother and was thankful to be a caregiver to her family. She adored her grandchildren and cherished time spent together. Gloria was an avid reader and donated her time at the Waterloo Public Library reading to children. She was a talented baker and took pleasure in sharing her culinary creations. Gloria was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Waterloo, where she was an active member of the church choir, Dorcas Society, head of the prayer chain, and volunteered her time at the school. She also served as an Election Official for the City of Waterloo from 1975-2012. Above all else, she was a devout Christian woman who lived her faith daily.
Gloria is survived by: her husband Kenneth; Children Stephanie (Michael) Masche' of Reeseville, Leslie Jacobs of Madison, Nicolette (Robert) Zietlow of Reeseville, Justine (Richard) Mueller of Lake Mills, Christopher (Stephanie) Jacobs of Reeseville, and Collin (Melissa) Jacobs of DeForest; Grandchildren Tawny, Nathan, Nichole, Trevor, Miranda, Hayden, Justin, Connor, and Avery; Brother Richard (Carol) Kornstedt of Cambridge, Sister Edith (James) Legge of Cambridge. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Brother Calvin, and her Sister Jeanie Hanusa.
Memorials in Gloria's honor can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church of Waterloo.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Waterloo with Rev. James Adomeit presiding. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00PM-7:00PM at the church and Thursday from 1:00PM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland following the service.
