Gladys "Dolly" Roehl (nee Roth), 91 of Watertown, passed away on September 26, 2015, at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek.
Dolly was born July 5, 1924 in Watertown the daughter of Fernando and Gertrude (Schumacher) Roth. She married Willard (Bill) Roehl at the German Methodist church in Watertown on February 22, 1945. Willard passed away on September 14, 2000. She was employed by Brandt Industries and Bethesda Lutheran Communities. In her free time, Dolly enjoyed spending time with her family, baking pies, reading and the companionship of the family dogs. She taught Sunday school and served in various roles in the ladies ministry at church. She found working with the people from Bethesda very rewarding. After retiring, she continued to volunteer at Bethesda by serving on the Human Rights committee and being a guardian for several people.
Dolly is survived by her daughters Karen (Don) McEvoy, of Watertown and Ellen Hierl of Sun Prairie; a granddaughter, Brooklyn Hierl of Sun Prairie; a sister, Ruth Gramdorf, of Watertown; a sister-in-law, Beverly Roehl, of Whitewater; nieces, nephews and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her son-in-law, Dennis Hierl; brothers, Charles Roth and Daniel Roth; sister, Verona Fredrich; in-laws, Lily Roth, Beverly Roth, Howard Fredrich, Harry Gramdorf, Gordon Roehl and Curtis Roehl.
Memorials may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, WI on September 30, at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Robert J. Loggans presiding. Visitation will be from 9am to 11am prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown immediately following the service.
