Gertrude Boelter

September 19, 1935 — December 21, 2016

Gertrude R. Boelter, 81 of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Agrace Hospice Center of Fitchburg.
Gertrude was born on September 19, 1935 in Johnson Creek, WI, the daughter of Lawrence and Frances (Schneeberger) Ambrose. On November 27, 1954, she married John Boelter at St. Mary Magdalene Church of Johnson Creek. She worked as a customer service representative with ORBIS Corp. for over 20 years. She was able to travel with her work and enjoyed meeting the customers that she had built relationships with over the years. She was known to bring baked goods to the workplace on a weekly basis, which helped with her popularity. Gertrude was the picture of selflessness. She always put others before herself. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and achieved one of her life goals, living to see 3 great-grandchildren. Gertrude made constant efforts for the benefit of others. She invited those with no local family into her home for the holidays and made those times, especially Christmas Eve, a cherished time together. She gave of herself with the Catholic Women's Club for many years. In all these acts, Gertrude desired no recognition and was an excellent example of Christ's love to others.
Gertrude is survived by: her Children Steven (Kathy) of Middleton, Michael (Lori) of Watertown, and Janet (Gene) Nehls of Hustisford; Bridget (Rob), Elizabeth (Sam), Matthew (Sara), Bradley (Melissa), BJ, Shawn, and Seth; 3 Great-Grandchildren Colin, Sylvie, Micah, and one of the way; Sister Evelyn (Pete) Kealey of Janesville. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers and a sister.
