George H. Yohn, 84 of Sun Prairie (formally of Marshall) died on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital of Madison.
George was born on February 16, 1932 in York Center, WI, the son of George Sr. and Esther (Gehrke) Yohn. George worked for the Waterloo Malt Company for many years and was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Marshall. He married Dorothy Kuipers and enjoyed a long marriage until her death in 2012. George served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He was a working man, who was a likeable, "regular guy". He lived at Regency Place of Sun Prairie for many years where he and Dorothy enjoyed many social activities.
George is survived by: Son Thomas (Vickie) Yohn of Las Vegas; Grandsons Troy Yohn of Waterloo and Chad (Amy) Mather of Gays Mills; Great-Granddaughter Serene Mather; Son-in-Law Ken Mather of Marshall. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends at Regency Place.
George is preceded in death by: his parents, wife, Daughter Susan Mather, 3 Sisters Dorothy Peterson, Beatrice Wiedeman, and Bernice Sherman and 2 Brother Arnold and Charles.
A memorial service will be at 2:00PM on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Marshall with Rev. Bonita Vize presiding. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00PM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
