George M. Wolfe, 76 of Portage (formally of Waterloo), passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014.
George was born on January 2, 1938 in East Troy, WI to Edward and Alma (Gerloff) Wolfe. He married Darlene Willms on October 15, 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Army. George worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for American State Equipment of Milwaukee for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo. He was also a member of Waterloo American Legion, Wings Over Wisconsin, the Waterloo Rod & Gun Club, and a life-long member of the NRA. He loved the outdoors and spending quality time with his family and friends.
George is survived by: 4 Children Lisa Wolfe of La Crosse, Jeffery (Mary) Wolfe of Mosinee, Kristine Wolfe of Osseo, MN and Mark Wolfe of Portage; 2 Grandchildren Hayley and Elijah Wolfe; Brother Floyd (Mary) Wolfe of Burlington, Sister Dorothy (Bob) Stoll of Burlington, and Sister June Hudson of North Prairie. He is also survived by a number nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his Parents, Brother Lee, and Sisters Janet and Evelyn.
Memorials to Southern Care Hospice of Madison would be appreciated.
A funeral service will be at 11am on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo with Rev. Rob Kosky presiding. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland.
