Fredrick L. Holaus, 76, of Waterloo, WI passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home.
Fred was born on October 3, 1941 in Vienna, Austria the son of Fredrick and Margaret (Schenk) Holaus. Fred’s family immigrated to the U.S. by boat, when he was only 13. He was a graduate Waterloo High School and he worked as a manager at Perry Printing for the majority of his 34 years there. He loved the Waterloo community and enjoyed serving in it. Fred was City Clerk, a member of the City Council and also served as Mayor of Waterloo over a 17 year career. Fred married Becky Meitner on December 31, 2002 at their home and the couple enjoyed 15 years of marriage together. He was blessed with two children, Lisa and Rick. He was a good dad. His children say he supported them in everything they did. He was also particular, willing to do tasks himself to make sure they were done correctly. For leisure; Fred enjoyed cooking and grilling for his family, playing golf 2 to 3 times a week and he also loved collecting Lioenel Trains. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Fred is survived by: his wife, Becky Meitner; the mother of his children, Sandra Foskett; his two children, Lisa (Bob) Rammelt and Rick (Georgia) Holaus; three grandchildren, Bradyn, Teagan and Devin Holaus; his mother, Margaret Holaus; a brother, Heinz (Judy) Holaus; two nieces Laura and Cindy as well as other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Holaus Sr.
A friends and family gathering will be held in Fred’s honor on Thurday, March 15, 2018 at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Waterloo, Wisconsin from 5:00 to 7:00PM.
