Fred S. Babcock Sr., 58, of Reeseville, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Watertown Memorial Hospital.
Fred was born on August 24, 1959 in Oconomowoc, the son of John and Carolee (Orsborne) Babcock. Fred grew up in the Watertown area and graduated from Watertown High School. He married his loving wife, Patti Bartz on October 20, 1979 at St. Mark’s in Richwood, Wisconsin. God blessed Fred and Patti’s marriage with 5 wonderful children. He worked at Spuncast as a Machinist for many years and he was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. First and foremost, Fred loved his family. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He was a loving father and grandfather and loved spending time and “picking on” his grandkids. Those closest to him remember him as a jokester, always pulling pranks on his family. He always made them laugh. Fred was a people person, always willing to help anyone in need. He never met a stranger, he was everybody’s friend. For leisure, Fred loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and just enjoyed being out in nature. He had a contagious personality and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Fred is survived by: his loving wife, Patti; 4 children, Sunshine (Rich) Rewolinski, Fred (Heather) Babcock Jr., Jeremy Babcock, and Brandon Babcock; 3 grandchildren, Hunter, Vivianne, and Harmony; 7 siblings, Gary Babcock, Ruthann (Darcy) Lamke, John (Chris) Babcock, Debbie (Tim) Finn, Carrie Babcock, Sheila (Herb) Winn, and Eddie Babcock. Fred is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, his loving son Dusty, and a granddaughter, Mia.
A funeral service will be held to honor Fred’s life at 2:00PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke presiding. A visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place in Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland following the service.
