Evelyn Gorder, age 97, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2017 at Willowbrook Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Lake Mills, WI.
She was born in Neillsville, WI on October 25, 1919. She was the seventh of nine children born to William and Lena (Dehnert) Heiking. She was united in marriage to Harold Gorder on April 8, 1938. Over the years she worked at Perry Printing, as a cook in the Waterloo School System, Jim's Cheese Pantry and at the H&O Grocery Store. She was a Girl Scout Leader, member of Royal Neighbors Society, Masonic Star and member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She enjoyed their retirement home in Montello and riding with Harold in a Model T.
Survivors include: children; Barbara (Jerry Christiensen) Hein of Sun Prairie, Dennis (Dena) Gorder of Baraboo and Peggy (Steve) Woerpel of Pleasant Hill, IA; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; she is also survived a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daughter Patricia and eight siblings.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 18, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Waterloo with the Rev. Robb Kosky presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Waterloo.
